Friend of mine have an issue with his car. Car starts right up no issues. It idles fine but once in D it misfires,loses power and rpm drops(never dies but almost).

What car, model year and other details?

It can be anything from fuel injectors to ignition issues. If an OBD-2, then a scan tool would be the correct place to start troubleshooting.
