Redesigning :
I ‘ve been thinking about redoing my car’s exhaust since a few days. Went to Exhaust repair shop in city but didn’t get any useful ideas from him so I decided to work on muffler myself, thought about taking out the resonator and installing a bigger centre muffler but idea failed as car will hit underside going over our “specially” designed car breaker speed bumps.

So now I am left with a thought of having 2 (ae-101 corolla) centre mufflers bolted not side by side but one after other and make a “Y” shape pipe which passes from both in parallel, not one after other hence reducing the exhaust out pressure by half from each muffler then joining back the pipe again with a “ Y” shape to the end muffler.

Hoping 2 mufflers will fit without hanging too much under the car.

you shoudl aim to increase flow but with retaining some back pressure.

best bet is to fit a longer straigh flow system with a slightly thinner than stock diameter if you wish to retain low end torque. however if you are willing to sacrifice bottom end torque to gain better revving and mor ehigh end power hyou shoudl do the same as above but with slightly larger pipes.

ideally you shodl go for a better flowing but not noisier setup, for that you'll need to get custom boxes made, the ones you get in the shops (pre made) are garbage and only increase noise.
