Today, I changed my fuel filter and it was filled with a mixture of water and diesel. It was 80% water and 20% diesel. I am pretty much confused due to it. Why there was water in the fuel filter? A friend said its due to humidity but I dont get it. I need fellow Pakwheelers reasoning to solve it.

My Vehicle is

Nissan Double Cabin
Diesel
1987

Thnxx..

I don’t think humidity alone would contribute to 20% of water content in the fuel filter. The easiest explanation would be that you have water in the fuel tank. More complicated scenarios would be a leak in the fuel line, a crack in the fuel filter or its fittings and the fuel it self being contaminated. May be the fuel station you are filling at is doing something fishy.
