5 Most Popular 4X4s of 2016 in Pakistan

Most searched 4x4 vehicles searched in Pakistan in 2016 will be presented here in this post. These 4x4 vehicles were initially made public in the 90s and the first such car to be introduced was Mitsubishi Pajero. But its monopoly was ended by Toyota later when it introduced Land Cruiser. Now Toyota and its Land Cruiser are considered necessary in this category as they are the only ones present in good conditions in Pakistan. Local o r foreign investment in 4x4 vehicles is decreasing due to high taxes and duty along with resale of land cruisers in the country. In 2016, following are the 4x4 vehicles searched most by the Pakistanis.
#5: Toyota Surf

Since 1984 till present, the production and selling of the Hilux Surf o r Toyota 4Runner is made by Toyota. It achieved popularity in the country in mid 90s while the Surf was replaced in the Asian markets by Hilux platform based Fortuner. The local market still provides its variants of SSR-X and SSR-G in good conditions. Both these models are available in the engine variants of 3.4, 3 and 2.7 L.
#4: Mitsubishi Pajero

Mitsubishi Pajero present now in the country are old because the 4x4 culture was started by this vehicle in the beginning. GLS and Exceed versions of Pajero are now available here. 1991 was the year of release of these versions. For this, four versions of the larger body were introduced including High Roof Wagon long wheelbase, Semi High Roof Wagon, Canvas Top Convertible and Metal Top. The stretch of long wheelbase and short wheelbase models is 70 mm and 30 mm respectively. There were two engines in the beginning including 3 liter 12 valve SOHC and a 2.5 liter turbocharged diesel engine. In 1993, two new engines were added by the company including 3.5 liter 24-valve DOHC and 2.8 liter turbocharged diesel engine.

Toyota is the manufacturer of light commercial vehicle Toyota Hilux which is sold as a pickup truck. It is sold in most of the countries worldwide excluding Canada, USA, S Korea, N Korea, India and Japan. It has maintained its continuous sale in Pakistan as it is the only local manufactured pickup truck in Pakistan. Its newer 8th generation in Pakistan has just been announced by Indus Motors. ‘Keen look’ in Corolla E170 is the model of this new Helix generation which include slim projector headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights. #2: Toyota Land Cruiser

Toyota Land Cruiser is the longest running series by Toyota and it is one of the most loved 4x4 cars in the whole world. Durability and reliability are its main features while lots of modern equipments and improved engine and interior are present in its 10th generation named J200. Bigger calipers and brake rotators and heavy front suspension are available in it. It has five different engines including 4 L, 4.5 L, 4.6 L, 4.7 L and 5.7 L. turbo diesel. Many improvements have been seen since the launch of J200 series.
