Bugatti 3-D Prints Biggest Titanium Car

3D printing becomes the big thing and it ranges from our household items to one off components and small handheld with the full function of the firing weapon and 3D printing is going mainstream. The 3D printing technology is performing the major role and it is one of the most significant automotive parts, that mention in new brake caliper of Bugatti and it is the largest 3D printed titanium component of the world.

Bugatti has developed the new 8 piston 3D printed titanium brake caliper and it was in the front of automotive community. The new brake caliper is designed for Bugatti Chiron and makes almost 1500 bhp and you need the technology in the world. The engineers of Bugatti decided that the best way to make the car stop quickly to develop the titanium brake caliper from scratch.

New Chiron brake caliper has the weight of 3 kgs and 16 inches long. New caliper is 40% lighter than current brake caliper on Bugatti Chiron, and it is made of the forged aluminum alloy. New brake caliper holds spotlight fir single biggest 3D printed car component, which was made from titanium around the world. Bugatti uses the similar aerospace grade material, which is used for the aircraft parts.





The 3D printer is added with four 400 watt lasers and Bugatti used it to print the caliper and it took printer to 45 hours to print one piece of caliper. It is exposed to 700 degree Celsius in this process and also eliminates the residual stress to ensure the dimensional stability of component.
