Ford and Honda have reportedly partnered to develop international regulations for measuring carbon dioxide emissions from car batteries.

As battery emit half of the CO2 in electronic vehicle manufacturing, the group of companies dubbed the "Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative MOBI", aims to develop a global approach that enables batteries to be reused and ultimately to help for protection of the environment.

According to Nikki Asia, the global automaker plans to develop a new production strategy under Mobi and basically "sets a standard for the mobility ecosystem across the industry."

Regarding new regulations in Europe the initiative comes forward, where authorities have directed entities to begin providing CO2 emissions records by 2024. This data will be collected and sent at each stage of battery production, distribution, use and disposal, including EV equipment.

Keep in mind that electric vehicles cause significant CO2 emissions globally, and regulating battery production will help limit these emissions in the long term.
