Here’s Complete Guideline To Drive A Manual Car

In the age of automobiles, you hear the sound of hand cars. But it really isn't. Here we are going to tell you about the steps for safety while driving a car with manual transmission. The below are some helpful tips for you to drive a manual car safely.

1. Don't leave your car running at a red light

At the red light, 9 out of 10 manual cars keep the driver's gear busy, just because they want to get away quickly when lights changed. It is not only a big mistake of driving but it also damages the clutch So always keep your gear in neutral and do your clutch a favor.

2. Do not use the gearshift lever as a palm rest

Always stop using the gear stick o r gear stick as a palm rest. By doing so, you are putting pressure on the gear selector fork. This pressure will accelerate clutch wear and tear.Be a safe driver and keep both hands on the wheel.

Do not gear up to Overspeed

This is especially true for beginning drivers who don't know how to use gears to increase speed. Top gear certainly allows you to get on board at high speeds, but you can't just go into fifth o r sixth gear. Doing so will put a lot of pressure on the engine and your car will start to feel stuck in the engine. This is not a good sign! So, if you want to keep navigating with your manual car, first let go of the gear, shift into a higher gear while accelerating gently.

Remember that each gear goes with a certain speed and RPM limit. For example, if you are driving 30-40 mph, you cannot shift into fifth gear, because fifth gear is for driving 80 miles per hour o r more. At first, you should be aware of these speed limits. Over time, you will develop a certain natural feeling for the gear, which is similar to a certain speed and specific RPM.

4. Do not put your foot on the clutch pedal

Don’t put your feet feet on the clutch pedal. This exercise causes clutch failure and fuel efficiency. When you drive with the comfort of your foot on the clutch pad, the clutch plate comes into partial contact with the engine pressure plate and creates friction.

Repairing a clutch failure can be expensive. Therefore, avoid problems simply by taking your feet off the clutch pedal. Easy!

5. Do not use the clutch and accelerator pedals to park your car on the hill

If your car is not featured with hill-hold assistance technology, you will find yourself pressing down on the clutch and accelerator to stay stable on the grade. But that is not a good idea. When you do this, you are forcing the clutch plate and engine pressure plate to move at different speeds. This process will create friction between the two plates and remove the clutch. Hence, you will end up with a faulty clutch that will wind your car back up the hill. Don't risk your life and use this mountain balancing tactic carefully and only when you really need it.

6. Change the manual transmission oil every 40,000 km.

Always keep checking your owner's manual for right transmission oil change interval. The limit for most manual vehicles is 40,000 km. Changing the transmission oil over time will increase the fuel efficiency of your vehicle. Failure to do so will result in slippage, which can lead to tooth decay on the gear.
