Honda Civic and Accord Flaw can be Stolen Easily

The car theft is common issue and the car owners remain under pressure because of this issue that they can lose their vehicle at any time as there are some technical flaws in the cars. The nefarious parties remain looking for any car to be stolen, which is the worrying fact for the auto industry analysts and experts. The security research firm, Star-V has carried out the research and they revealed that millions of Honda Civic and Accord can be stolen at any time because of the faulty keyfob having flaw in Honda Civic & Accord stolen easily.

The research firm has revealed the loophole in the security of these cars and anyone can unlock the car, open the doors and start the engine with the portable radio. This fault can prone to Honda Accord, Civic, CRV and XRV 2021-22 models. The researchers found that this mechanism has the pattern to accept such codes, when someone presses this keyfob.

The research work revealed that the Rolling-PWN bug is the big issue and it was founded in the vulnerable version of rolling codes mechanism and it is implemented in large number of Honda cars. This flaw is vulnerable and it is not possible for the common people to detect it. This flaw is important and annoying that the owners of millions of Honda cars are at the risk of theft of the cars. They claimed that they filed the report, notify this issue to Honda but the company does not acknowledge this issue.

Honda’s Response

The spokesperson of Honda talked with media and said that this report is baseless and not acceptable for them. He was of the opinion that rolling-codes mechanism would not allow them for the loophole in the security system of the car. The video was shared with them as the evidence of absence of rolling code and it is not added with enough evidence to support their claim.
