ITP Traffic Challan Deliver to Home

Islamabad Police has taken the wonderful step with the installation of about 2000 CCTV camera in the capital city at the different locations. Islamabad Traffic police announced the use of technology driven approach and they have managed the better challan system.
ITP will use intelligent surveillance system to forward the traffic violation challans to the home address of the violators. This model has already been implemented in Lahore and now the ITP has decided to bring it to the capital city of Islamabad.
Working of System
The automated cameras are installed and they monitor the traffic at different locations in the cities. The system works for violations like taking wrong u-turns, over-speeding o r breaking the signals.
The system records the violations and the higher authorities will review them. When they get the approval, the e-challan will be generated and it will be sent t the home of the violators through the courier service. The police with also send the evidence of the incident to the home of the culprit and it will be added with the picture of the incident and the number plate of the vehicle driven by the violator.
The traffic violators will have to pay the challan within 15 days and if he fails to meet the deadline, then another challan will be issued with the extra charge and it will be resent to the violator through courier.
The system will have different information from different sources, which are part of the safe city project. These will be included with Smart ID cards, Smart Vehicle Registration Cards, Electronic RFID tags and centralized databases for authentication of vehicles and the individuals.
When ITP will take this initiative, it is expected that it will increase the generation of the revenue and it will decrease the corruption. There are many traffic wardens, who take the bribe and allow the violators to go. This new approach will decrease the practice and better management of revenue overall. The ITP is going to introduce another system through which the challan will be generated with the use of an app and it can be paid in less than one minute without standing in the long queues.
