Mitsubishi Lancer 1.8 Turbo 2006 Review

Exterior

On the exterior of the car shows that there are headlamps and taillamps and they are smoked to give the performance oriented look to the car. The alloy rims are low profile and blacked out to enhance the sporty nature of this car. The exterior color is white and it goes with black rims and it does not have the sun roof. The exterior design is very polarizing and it has various soft edges. The door handles and side view mirrors are body colored and it has the side skirts and the front lip gives the low profile and sporty look to the car. The body parts are similar of the locally manufactured lancer and this is the reason that this car has low prices but it is available easily.

Interior

This car has some parts hydro dipped and it gives the sporty look to interior of the car. The seat upholstery material is the fabric, which is excellent for hot summer season of Pakistan. The floor bed is not flat on the rear side but has small bulge to make uncomfortable to the passengers. There are some other interior features like power steering, power windows, retractable mirrors and the boot space is same just like local variants. The performance of air conditioning is optimal and suits summers months. The air conditioning unit is manual and sound proofing of car is better than provided in the local cars. There is lack of infotainment screen and it has old fashion audio unit, which is adjusted in the dashboard.

Performance

The engine in this vehicle is turbo charged petrol 1800 cc engine and it is provided in Lancer GSR and it is same engine, which is provided in Mitsubishi Galant. The locally manufactured has 1300 cc o r 1600 cc engines and the car has the speed of 7 to 7 km /l in the city. You can find the spare parts of this car easily but the prices are little bit high. The previous owner changed fuel pump for PKR 25,000.

Comfort and Handling

The seat comfort of this car is good as the seat cushion is soft and the leg space at front is optimal for driver and passenger. The leg room at rear seat is optimal even after having the coil cover and this car is comfort for daily journey. The suspension of the car is soft over bumps and the ground clearance is optimal for Pakistani roads. The front extended lips can rub off the ramp of garage. The stability and handling of this car is excellent at the speeds.

Safety

You can find two airbags and one is for the driver and the other is for the front seat passenger. There are some other safety features in this car, which are included with anti-lock braking system, which is present in imported Japanese models and the performance of the brakes is optimal because of the presence of ABS
