PAMA Releases Car Sales Statistics For January 2021

The Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association PAMA has officially issued the statistics for car sales for January 2021. According to data compiled and shared by Topline Securities, the automotive sector recorded significant vehicle sales of 17,515 in January 2021, an increase of 46 percent over compared to same tenure last year.

Accordign to report, KIA sales are included in the equation, this percentage increases to 67% on an annualized YoY basis. It is worth mentioning here that Lucky Motors, the company that changed the name of KIA in Pakistan, is not yet a member of PAMA.

The statistics adds that Pak Suzuki Motor Company PSMC has once again exceeded sales volume by selling 9,013 vehicles in January 2021, including monthly sales MOM. 19% increase in sales and US sales, an increase of 62%.

Toyota Indus Motor Company IMC sold 5,452 vehicles in January 2021, an increase of 36% over UU sales and 36% over MOM sales. Honda Atlas cars sold a respectable 2,450 units last month, with MOM sales up 39% and YOY hike up to 11%.

During the same month, Hyundai Nishat sold 515 vehicles, resulting in a 1% increase in MOM sales. Kia, which is not a member of Payama, sold about 25,500 units last month, according to a Topline report.Overall, MOM's car sales increased 26% in January 2021.
