Permission 3 Car makers for establishing plants in Pakistan
Three new companies are allowed by the government to set up car manufacturing and assembly plants in Pakistan. According to Federal Secretary for Ministries of Industries & Production Khizar Gondal, the assembling & manufacturing of vehicles under the Green field investment category has been allowed by the ministry of industry & production to United Motors Pvt. Limited, Nishat Group and Kia-Lucky Motors Pakistan.
All these companies will collectively invest $372 million in the Pakistani automotive industry including $190 million by Kia Lucky, $164 million by Nishat Group and $18.1 million by United Motors. All these companies will sign agreement with the Ministry of Industries & Production to bind by the Automotive Development Policy 2016-21.
Consumers and market analysts have welcomed the coming of new players in the Pakistani automotive industry as these companies will provide competition and end the monopoly of Japanese cars.
