Sindh Govt Biometric Verification for Vehicle Ownership Tran

Sindh government has introduced the biometric verification system for the transfer of ownership of the vehicles in the entire province. For this purpose, the Sindh government will amend the motor vehicle transfer rules so that they can carry out the biometric verification of seller and buyer of the vehicle and this process will help to prevent sale of vehicles on the open transfer letter.

The above proposition was discussed in the meeting and the Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs, presided over the meeting. DG Excise and Taxation gave the briefing to meeting. He further said that Excise department received number of complaints of various vehicles, which are sold on open letters. He also said that the department sent the proposal to government to introduce biometric system for verification of seller and buyer when the vehicle is transferred o r registered. The department completed all necessary formalities to launch the smart cards and various other security features are introduced in this verification system, when you compare the smart card issued by the Punjab government.

The provincial minister expressed his satisfaction on that sale of vehicle with open letters will be reduced. He asked the officers to take strict steps to discourage the practice. The minister appraised the arrangements, which are being made for the coming road checking campaign.
