Toyota Electric Car bZ4X Design and Interior

Toyota is planning to launch fully electric model of crossover SUV, the Toyota bZ4X. The company has decided to launch its first all electric SUV next year in 2022 in the Europe. The company is bringing its first EV under bZ branding and plans up to 7 models of EVs by 2025.

Toyota bZ4X Design

The design of the new Toyota all electric SUV bZ4X is based on Toyota E-TNGA/ Toyota New Global Architecture of electric vehicles. Toyota has manufactured its first electric SUV in collaboration with Subaru. The car will be similar to Toyota RAV4 but will have sharp style and design.







The interior and exterior design of EV is based on “Hi-Tech and Emotion” with sleek design and optimized aerodynamics. The car is 4690mm long, 1860mm wide, and 1650mm tall, while it has a wheelbase of 2850mm. For reference, the wheelbase is almost 4 inches longer than the Fortuner, and all this space goes on the inside.Toyota claims that the SUV has one of the largest interior spaces for higher comfort and storage. It has 2 row seats with a capacity of 5 passengers.

Power

The car will be powered by a 71.4 kWh Lithium-ion battery with a voltage of 355. The battery is placed on the floor of the vehicle. The battery is highly rigid and has lower center of gravity. The company has implemented the software monitoring for the high voltage battery. The software will monitor any abnormal activity in the battery voltage. For prevention from the short circuits, high resistant coolant will be used. According to Toyota, the battery will still hold 90% of charging capacity even after 10 years of vehicle use and approximately 240,000 kilometres on the odometer.

As far as the power is concerned, the standard model will have single 201HP motor mounted on the front axle. The AWD version will get motors each on the front and rear axle and each with 107HP capacity. The total output for the AWD variant is around 214HP. The FWD can reach 0 to 100 in 8.4 seconds, while the AWD manage it in 7.7 seconds.











Battery Range

The company has not issued the tested numbers for the battery range. But the FWD variant is expected to reach 500KM while the AWD is expected to cover 460Km on a single full charge. The 150kW-DC chargers can be used to charge the battery of Toyota Electric SUV. The battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 30 minutes. The Climate Control feature is given in the car to control the battery temperature.

Handling and Suspension

The Toyota Electric Car is featured with electric power steering and it can be operated by a wire system. It means that tyres and steering are not connected mechanical to drive. This makes the drive and parking easy and comfortable. The suspension has a strut-type coil spring on the front while a double-wishbone coil spring on the rear.

The Toyota crossover electric SUV has a modern and newly designed interior. The car has a digital cluster and an innovated infotainment system which also provided updates regarding the improvement of the vehicle. Other interior feature include panoramic roof and a solar roof as well which can produce electricity for up to 1800km per year. It also helps in charging the battery when car is parked under sun.

The vehicle is also provided with a digital key. A digital can make you able to use your smartphone to lock o r unlock the car with remote access. Different voice commands can be given in the infotainment system using voice recognition feature.
For safety car will have active and passive safety systems.





Toyota Electric Car bZ4X Price
