Toyota Pakistan Completes Production Of 1 Million Cars

Since inception, Toyota Pakistan has set a record for manufacturing over one million Toyota Cars in Pakistan. The Toyota Indus Motors Company IMC is the oldest car company in Pakistan. On completing one million units production, Toyota team celebrated the big achievement in the assembly plant located in Karachi.

Toyota Pakistan had been locally assembling a single model, Toyota Corolla back in 1993, The IMC used to manufacture around 20 units a day and over 7,000 units a year. Currently, the company is also producing new models under its brand, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Fortuner, and Toyota Hilux, expanding its capacity to over 65,000 units a year. But old remains gold as Toyota’s 1-millionth unit was of its legendary model Corolla, an 11th generation Toyota Corolla Altis Grande.

The production of Toyota Pakistan from 1993 to 2022 is,

761,700 units of Corolla,

45,400 units of Yaris,

111,900 units of Hilux and Fortuner,

81,000 Cuore with the Daihatsu badge.

The company has progressed much in terms of production and has a bright future in the global and local auto market. . CEO IMC Ali Asghar Jamali states that the company has invested $30 million in assembly plant upgrades, setting a target of 76,000 annual production capacity by the end of this year.
