Traffic Fines Increased Up To Rs. 5,000 In Lahore

The city traffic police Lahore has increased the traffic fines to minimize the traffic violations in the city. 
The police has issue a warning to the public in this regard. 
In a recent Twitter post the public is informed that the traffic fines will now be 2,000 and 5,000 instead of 300 rupees and 500 rupees respectively. 
The City Traffic Officer CTO has also forwarded a suggestion to raise the traffic fines to the DIG traffic Punjab.

The new traffic fines in the Lahore will be as given below as per the suggestion forwarded.
This is not the first time the police have taken a step to tackle traffic violation in the city. On a number of occasions, the police have launched operations against fake number plates and one-way violations. 
Traffic police in Lahore is not taking initiative to handle the traffic violations. The police has started a number of operations before as well to control the traffic violations in the city against no plate violations and one-way violations. 

Previous Hike in Traffic Fines
Previously, the Government of Punjab has implemented all traffic violations fines. All drivers and passengers got new penalties, including passenger and commercial vehicle drivers, motorcyclist, and rickshaw drivers. The Government has also directed all vehicle owners to get Vehicle Fitness Certificate for the vehicles which are old than 5 years in addition to challan fees. 

Fines for Motorcyclists
The Government increased the fines for the owners of the motorcycles in Pakistan by Rs. 300 or Rs. 400 depending upon the violation. 
The fine for riding a motorcycle without a helmet was up to Rs. 600 instead of just Rs. 200.
The fine for speeding, wrong parking, driving in the opposite lane and riding a motorcycle without lights at night hiked up to Rs. 400, not Rs. 200.
Underage motorcyclists started to be charged with a fine of Rs. 500, while those without valid driving licenses were fined Rs600.
Motorcycles with fake number plates were fined up to Rs. 1,000.

Fines for Rickshaw Drivers
The fine for rickshaw drivers had been increased from Rs. 250 to Rs. 500.

Fines for Vehicle Drivers
For passenger and commercial vehicle drivers, the fines for driving without a seat belt, using a mobile phone while driving, and driving without a valid driving license were raised from Rs. 500 to Rs. 750.
Vehicles using pressure horns or driving on the wrong side of the road were fined Rs. 1,000.
The fine for passenger and commercial vehicles with fake number plates was Rs. 2,000.
