Two New EVs Arrived In Pakistan

With announcement of New EV Policy 2022, the electric vehicles in Pakistan are gradually entering in the local auto sector. In a most recent development, two new EVs arrived in Pakistan. According to details, the two all electric commercial vehicles made their entry in Pakistan yesterday.

The entrants in the local EV market include one of the vehicles is a Sokon Ruichi Tourer 250 passenger van, while the other one is the Ruichi Maximus 250 cargo van.


Specs and Features

Both electric vans are installed with a single electric motor and a 42 kWh battery pack which generates the 80 horsepower and 200 Newton-meters of torque which is sufficient for a commercial van. The Tourer 250 is a 12 seater van including driver while the the Maximus 250 has a cargo space of up to 180 cubic feet and can haul over 1000 kilograms of cargo.

Other major features of the both EVs include fast and slow charging capability, dual-zone air-conditioning, regenerative braking, parking sensors, a smart system, and a 7 kW onboard AC charger. 

The Tourer 250 is said to come with a maximum range of 300 kilometers while the Maximus 250 has a maximum range of 250 kilometers when fully loaded.

GUJU Motors is a sub brand of Tesla Industries---Not Elon Misk’s Tesla Inc. Tesla Industries a local electronic company In Pakistan working on the renewable energy-based solutions for the public and private firms. 

According to CEO Sitara Group, which is a parent company of GUJU Motors and Tesla Industries, the company is currently importing tor electric vehicles from.

Moreover, the company has a plan to start the local assembling of EVs in Pakistan. He added that Tesla Industries currently has the largest EV charging infrastructure that can support the new EVs across Pakistan.

The company has not yet revealed the launch and price of new EVs in Pakistan. However, the new EVs are expected to make the official debut in the Pakistan’s EVs market in few weeks at the price tag of 5.3 million rupees.
