Uber Car Crushes Pedestrian

The autonomous Uber car crushed a woman in Tempe, Arizona, United States in the unfortunate accident. The Uber car was running in the autonomous mode and 34 years old Rafael Vasquez did not apply the brake and it struck against 49 years old Elaine Herzberg, when she was crossing the road. The injured woman was rushed to the hospital immediately but she was succumbed to injuries.

The spokesperson of Tempe Police told media that neither the deceased nor driver appeared impaired in the preliminary investigation. They also said that Uber is not likely to be suspect in this case. Uber has also suspended the pilot operations and the new CEO of Uber tweeted his condolences to family of the deceased and the company is cooperating with the authorities in this regard.

Uber has started the testing of the autonomous cabs in Arizona in February 2017 and since then, one Uber autonomous car was crashed in March 2017, one month after the launch of the vehicles. There is another accident occurred in Pittsburgh and it caused the fatality.
