The Public is no more able to drive vehicles with an open letter. The initiative was taken by the Motor Registration Authority. The authority warned to seize the vehicles of those people who own vehicles with an open letter. Furthermore, the authority gave a deadline to register vehicles on your own name till January, 15, 2020 otherwise a lot of troubles may be faced by people having vehicles on open letter. The car registration will be cancelled and will be locked on polic station as well.

It is a good idea to transfer vehicles on your name for your safety and your family from undesired trouble. This practice will also make car trade more efficient in the used car market. The tracking of vehicles is also being difficult and then open letter vehicles will be risky in tems of security.

The authority has been hardly working for a long time to force motorist to register their car to their names. In Rawalpindi, the motorists have been warned by Motor Registration Authority to do it at the start of this year.

The authority is in action in other tasks as well, like introducing a biometric system for vehicle registration and transfer in Islamabad. This ensures data protection and efficient data entry into the system. Use of the biometric system will help prevent and prevent fraud. Islamabad Excise and Taxation Office ETO has also introduced online services to speed up the registration and transfer of vehicles.
