White Most Sought Colour for Car

Despite presence of multiple colors, most of the people prefer white o r black color in their cars. It is also proved by Global Automotive 2015 Color Popularity Report which shows that white dominated the most popular color for new cars for 6th consecutive year while it is followed by black, silver, grey and red respectively. This year, white again dominated with 35% of total world cars. 2011 was the last year when it was defeated by silver color and since then it is leading the car color market. Not only white continued its dominance but silver also continued its decline since then. White color is mostly proffered by customers in Africa 46% and Asia 41%. Since 1953, white remained top 5 most popular color of cars except three years. Now, several shades of white color are also available including vanilla, stone white solids, pearlescent white and cool bright white.

Analysts say that white remained as one of the top colors since 1998. Though, the leading color from 2001 to 2006 was silver but now black has taken lead over silver and it is the main color for luxury cars. Experts have the view that ‘Apple’ is behind the current trend of colors in automobile industry. It is because the latest technology trends are followed by colors of cars. In 1998, Apple introduced iMac with bright colors. In 2000s, they introduced silver color for their devices included computers, cell phones etc. and it remained the main choice till mid 2000s and it also remained the top trend for car colors. After mid 2000s, Apple changed its choice and introduced white colored devices which is the main reason for dominance of white color in cars. According to the analysts, the reason behind this similarity is the choice of young people with modern choices.
Many people will agree that white colors has several advantages as it is easier to keep clean and also saves fuel cost as it absorbs less heat as compared to dark colors.
