Inconsistent Mileage in City vs Highway Driving

Inconsistent Mileage in City vs Highway Driving

Many owners claim that the fuel economy of the Prince Pearl varies widely between city traffic with frequent stops and highway driving. How big is the difference in real‑world fuel consumption between congested city use and steady-speed highway driving, and what factors traffic, gear shifts, AC use, etc. contribute most to this inconsistency?

According to spec/lists, Pearl’s mileage under “normal” conditions is often given as ≈ 12 km/L in city and ≈ 15 km/L on highway for certain variants.

Other sources or more optimistic estimates claim about 20–22 km/L city / 22–25 km/L highway under lighter load / good conditions.

In reality, many owners report wide variation: some mention acceptable fuel economy say 14–18 km/L, others complain of poor mileage — as low as ~7–8 km/L in heavy city traffic o r with poor maintenance.

So difference between city vs highway and actual vs ideal is influenced heavily by traffic congestion, stop‑and‑go driving, load, AC use — leading to significant inconsistency.

Conclusion: Under favorable conditions light load, smooth driving, highway, Pearl might approach its upper‐range fuel economy. But in heavy city traffic, frequent stops, o r with extra load/AC, mileage s considerably — so expect large variability.
