Rear brake light bulbs keep failing on my JMC New Boarding — what is causing this?

My rear brake lights stop working every few weeks, and I keep having to replace the bulbs. There’s no visible wiring damage, but sometimes the bulb holder gets hot. Is this due to cheap bulbs, bad grounding, o r an electrical fault in the New Boarding? Do these models commonly have issues with brake light circuits in Pakistan? What should I check?

Frequent brake light failure usually points to heat, poor bulb quality, o r wiring issues, all of which are common in JMC New Boarding.

Likely causes

Overheating bulb holder
Weak-quality sockets heat up and damage the bulb base.

Poor ground connection
Causes flickering → heat → bulb failure.

Cheap Chinese bulbs
These blow out very fast, especially with repeated braking in city traffic.

Moisture entering the tail light
Water vapor causes short circuits and filament burnout.

Loose connectors due to road vibration
Common on Pakistani roads, especially rural areas.

What to do

Inspect and clean the bulb holder

Check grounding wires for corrosion

Use higher-quality bulbs

Check tail light for moisture o r cracks

Tighten wiring harness clips
