Why do the headlights on my JMC New Boarding burn out so quickly?

I’ve replaced the headlights on my JMC New Boarding several times, but they burn out again within a few months. I mostly drive at night on highways in Punjab, and I use the high beam frequently. Some mechanics say the issue is with voltage fluctuation o r poor-quality wiring. Is premature headlight failure common in JMC New Boarding? What are the most likely causes in Pakistan?

Premature headlight failure is very common in JMC New Boarding vehicles in Pakistan and usually happens due to electrical inconsistencies in the vehicle.

Most common causes

Voltage fluctuation from alternator
When the alternator overcharges above 14.5V, bulbs burn out quickly.

Weak grounding earth wires
Poor grounding creates uneven current flow, damaging bulbs.

Low-quality headlight bulbs
Many roadside bulbs in Pakistan are cheap and fail fast.

Excessive heat in the headlight housing
Using higher-wattage bulbs e.g., 100W overheats the housing and shortens lifespan.

Loose connections
Vibration from rough roads causes connectors to heat up and burn the filament faster.

What to check

Test alternator voltage output

Ensure proper grounding

Use branded bulbs Osram, Philips

Avoid high-wattage bulbs

Inspect headlight socket for heat marks
