The starting price of new BAIC cars in Pakistan ranges from different prices. There are various new car models available at BAIC Pakistan dealerships across the country. Additionally, used BAIC cars are also readily accessible, starting from PKR 1,500,000 for a used BAIC Senova D20 to PKR 10,500,000 for a used BAIC BJ40 Plus. History of Sazgar BAIC

History of BAIC and Sazgar Engineering Works Limited Beijing Automotive Industry Company (BAIC), the third largest automotive group in China, produces a range of vehicles from passenger cars to commercial vehicles and sells roughly 3.5 million vehicles annually. BAIC entered Pakistan through a partnership with Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SEWL), the largest rickshaw maker in the country. BAIC was one of the many international automobile manufacturers that came to Pakistan through the Automotive Development Policy 2016-2020. The company received greenfield status in 2018 and established a car assembly plant in Pakistan in collaboration with Sazgar Engineering. In 2020, Sazgar showcased three budget-friendly BAIC Motors at the PAPS Auto Show in Lahore: the BJ40 Plus, X25, and D20. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the launch of these vehicles was delayed. To avail the incentives provided in the auto policy, BAIC Cars Pakistan must launch these vehicles by the end of the fiscal year 2021 in June.

BAIC BJ40 Plus

The BJ40 Plus, an off-road SUV, will come with two engine options: a 2.0-liter diesel engine and a 2.0-liter petrol engine. The company plans to launch the petrol version first, with the diesel version to follow in the second phase of the launch. Some of its standout features include fog lamps, an 11-inch infotainment floating screen, parking brakes, a 3-view reverse camera, and cruise control.

BAIC Senova X25

The Senova X25, a crossover SUV, will be equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol engine and offer two transmission options: a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. Both variants will be available in the Pakistani market, and the X25 will also feature a 9-inch infotainment screen, power windows, digital climate control, parking assistance, and fog lights.

BAIC Senova D20

The proposed D20 model will be available in two body styles: a 5-door hatchback and a 4-door sedan. It will have two engine options: a 1.3-liter petrol engine and a 1.5-liter petrol engine, but it is yet to be determined which options will be available in the local market. Some of the attention-grabbing features of the D20 include LED headlights, 14-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, a 6-inch touchscreen display, and a rear-view camera.

BAIC Cars in Pakistan

BAIC cars are on their way, with the launch of all four vehicles (the BJ40 Plus off-road SUV, the X25 crossover SUV, the D20 hatchback, and the D20 sedan) expected to occur in the first quarter of 2021. BAIC Pakistan will distribute these vehicles through Sazgar dealerships across the country.
