Toyota Mark II Overview

The 9th Generation Toyota Mark II was introduced in 2000 and was available to purchase until 2007. The car was available in two versions - a 4-door sedan and a 4-door station wagon - and in four variants - Grande 2.0, Grande 2.5, and IR-V. The price of the car was competitive compared to other cars in the same class.

Exterior

The exterior of the Toyota Mark II features a restrained and minimalistic design with angular side swept headlights, a large chrome trapezium-styled grille, dual slim narrow rectangular-styled air intakes, rectangular style fog lights, and an outward sticking bumper. The rear end houses triangular-style side swept taillights and an outward sticking bumper. The 4-door station wagon features two large sharp upswept headlights flanked by dual small rectangular style upswept headlights, a large trapezium grill with chrome accents, dual standard circular fog lights, and triple narrow slim rectangular styled air intakes. The overall exterior of the car features familiar styling for a large Japanese sedan/station wagon designed in the early 2000s.


Interior

The interior of the car is compromised of black and silver plastic trim pieces with wood paneling. The front and rear seats are covered in fabric. Standard features on the Grande and IR include traction control, power windows, power steering, power lock doors, a stereo speaker audio system, and automatic climate control. Features on the Grande G and IR-V include leather upholstery, a leather steering wheel, Xenon headlights, upgraded wood paneling, and front power seats. The IR-V also features larger 17-inch allow wheels as standard. Options included satellite navigation, heated front seats, and a power moonroof. The overall interior of the Toyota Mark II features a very good amount of interior space for a sedan of its exterior dimensions and offers a great level of comfort and interior refinement.


Engine and Gearbox

The Toyota Mark II was offered with three engine options - a 2.0 Liter Inline-6, a 2.5 Liter Inline-6, and a 2.5 Liter Turbocharged Inline-6. The car was available with a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission.


Mileage

The Toyota Mark II 9th Generation can achieve an average of up to 12KM/L making for an estimated driving range of up to 840KM from the subcompact sedans 70-liter fuel tank.
