Toyota Vitz 1st Generation Overview

The 1st Generation Toyota Vitz, also known as the Yaris, was a front-engine, front-wheel-drive subcompact hatchback produced from 1998 to 2004. It was available in two versions, a 3-door and a 5-door hatchback, with F and FL variants.

Exterior

The 1st Generation Toyota Vitz had a unique design language, featuring trapezium-styled angular headlights, a rectangular grille, and a large air intake on the front bumper. The rear end had taillights and a standard case hatchback, and the 5-door hatchback was slightly longer to accommodate the rear doors.

Interior

The interior of the Generation Toyota Vitz had black and beige plastic trim pieces and fabric seats. Standard features included air conditioning, power lock doors, power steering, power windows, and a stereo speaker audio system. The FL variant had additional features such as alloy wheels and front fog lights, while options included satellite navigation and side airbags.

Engine and Mileage

The Toyota Vitz/Yaris had three engine options, a 1.0L DOHC 16-valve inline-4 VVTi, a 1.3L DOHC 16-valve inline-4 VVTi, and a 1.5L DOHC 16-valve inline-4 VVTi. The car had a fuel mileage of 14.0 km/L (1.0L), 15.0 km/L (1.3L), and 15 km/L (1.5L) with a 50-liter tank.
