The 2025 BYD Seal has officially been unveiled as the first BYD sedan to incorporate the advanced e-Platform 3.0 Evo architecture and to feature LiDAR technology. This new sedan marks a significant leap forward in BYD's vehicle lineup, combining cutting-edge features with impressive performance metrics.

Enhanced e-Platform 3.0 Evo
The 2025 Seal is built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, an 800V architecture that offers superior performance and faster charging capabilities compared to its predecessor, the e-Platform 3.0. This new platform is designed to enhance both efficiency and driving dynamics, setting a new standard for BYD’s electric vehicles.

   

Specifications and Performance
Measuring 4,800 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height with a 2,920 mm wheelbase, the 2025 Seal will be available in four different versions. The base models feature single-motor rear-wheel drive, while the top-of-the-line version comes with dual-motor all-wheel drive. The entry-level variant is equipped with a 61.44 kWh battery pack, offering a range of up to 510 km, while the higher models come with an 80.64 kWh battery, providing ranges of up to 650 km for single-motor versions and 600 km for the dual-motor variant.

Performance Metrics
In terms of performance, the single-motor 2025 Seal accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the dual-motor model achieves the same speed in a remarkable 3.8 seconds. These figures highlight the Seal's impressive speed and efficiency, catering to different driving needs.

   

Pricing and Features
The 2025 BYD Seal, initially considered for the Seal 07 EV name, starts at CNY 175,800 (€22,500, $24,500) for the single-motor 61.44 kWh model. Prices increase for models with the 80.64 kWh battery, with the next variant priced at CNY 189,800 (€24,200, $26,500), followed by CNY 216,800 (€27,700, $30,200), and the dual-motor model at CNY 239,800 (€30,600, $33,400). The top models also feature LiDAR technology, enabling BYD’s DiPilot 300 assisted driving system for advanced self-driving capabilities on both city roads and highways.
