In a significant achievement, Chery has been recognized as the leading Chinese brand in the highly regarded J.D. Power 2023 China Initial Quality Study (IQS). This accolade serves as a testament to Chery's unwavering dedication to crafting outstanding vehicles renowned for their quality and customer satisfaction.

The 2023 China IQS results hold great significance in the Chinese automotive market, serving as a barometer for the quality of new cars. Chery has risen to the top among all domestic Chinese brands, marking a noteworthy improvement from its position in 2022. Particularly noteworthy is Chery's performance in the compact sedan and compact SUV segments, where its Arrizo 5 and Tiggo 5X (also known as the Tiggo 4 Pro in international markets) clinched the top positions.

The J.D. Power IQS is a flagship evaluation by the organization, encompassing a staggering 230 models from 48 different brands. Focused on assessing quality-related issues reported by owners of fuel-powered vehicles during their initial two-to-six months of ownership, the study meticulously evaluates 218 specific problem areas across nine categories, using a metric known as problems per 100 vehicles (PP100).

Chery's consistent success in major J.D. Power awards speaks volumes about its commitment to excellence. In the recent 2023 Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout Study (APEAL), Chery's Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 series emerged victorious in the mid-sized economical SUV and mid-sized SUV segments. Additionally, the Chery Arrizo 5 PLUS led the mid-sized basic sedan category in the 2022 APEAL Study, while the Chery Tiggo 3X secured the top spot in the mini-SUV category during the 2021 China Vehicle Dependability Study.

Among the top 10 brands, familiar names like Geely secured the 2nd position, Changan landed at 4th place, and Jetour (a sub-brand of Chery) also exceeded the industry average of 212 problems per 100 vehicles. MG claimed the 9th spot, just below the industry average, while Oshan (Changan's sub-brand) secured the 16th position, and Haval took the 18th spot. These rankings highlight the exceptional quality and performance across the automotive industry.
