The Honda Civic 7th generation has been on the market for more than 3 years, and car enthusiasts have eagerly anticipated a facelift. Although several camouflaged test mules have been spotted, the actual changes have remained a mystery. However, recently, uncamouflaged pictures of the 7th generation Honda City 2023 have surfaced online, providing a first look at the upcoming changes.

The 7th generation Honda City 2023 was initially introduced in Thailand in 2019, but the updated model is set to launch in India in March 2023.

Contrary to customers' high expectations, the facelift for the 7th generation Honda City is relatively minor. However, there are some noticeable tweaks that have undoubtedly enhanced the car's overall appearance.

The front of the car features a redesigned grille with a honeycomb pattern, while new alloy wheels with updated body-colored elements further improve the car's aesthetics. Additionally, both the front and rear bumpers have undergone changes.

Not only has the exterior received a facelift, but the interior has also been updated. The latest 7th generation Honda City (2023) now boasts ventilated seats, a new infotainment system, and wireless Apple Carplay/ Android Auto. However, no upgrades to the car's security system have been revealed in the pictures, and we will have to wait for the official facelift to learn more.
When comparing various versions of the Honda City, it appears that the top variant features LED headlights, while the mid-level model comes equipped with projector headlights. As the facelifted model will first debut in India, Honda has decided to exclude the 1.5L diesel variant and continue with the 1.5L petrol engine, which delivers 121 horsepower in both the CVT and MT variants. The 2023 Honda City facelift is also expected to include a hybrid engine of 1.5L paired with an e-CVT transmission, providing 126hp of power.

At present, there are nine Honda City models available, with prices ranging from INR 11.87 lakh to INR 15.62 lakh. The hybrid model has priced at INR 19.89 lakh. However, the new Honda City facelift 2023 is predicted to be priced towards the higher end. All cars in India, including the new Honda City, will become more costly due to the update of engines to meet the new pollution regulations. Following its debut, it will continue to compete against the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Suzuki Ciaz, and Hyundai Verna in India's fiercely competitive automobile market.
