KIA Car Prices Increase March 2023

Yesterday, the federal government implemented a 25% General Sales Tax (GST) on luxury items. Today, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) confirmed this new tax in a sales tax notification under SRO 297(1)/2023. However, some vehicles not classified as 1400cc cars are also subject to this tax. This tax bracket covers all locally assembled 1400cc and above cars, but notably, it also includes locally manufactured or assembled SUVs and CUVs, even those with engine displacement below 1400cc. As a result, a price hike was anticipated and has come to fruition, as Kia has increased its car prices. Kia Lucky Motors announced in a notification that ex-factory prices effective March 8, 2023, have been revised due to the increase in Sales Tax rate from 18% to 25%.

New Kia Car Prices 

The prices of SUVs and CUVs such as Stonic, Sportage, and Sorento have been raised by car assemblers. Below are the updated prices of these vehicles.

Kia Stonic New Prices

Kia Stonic EX now costs Rs. 5,200,000, an increase of Rs. 300,000 from its previous price of Rs. 4,900,000. Meanwhile, Kia Stonic EX+ has a new price of Rs. 5,730,000, up by Rs. 330,000 from its old price of Rs. 5,400,000.

Kia Sportage New Prices

·        Sportage Alpha used to be priced atRs. 6,650,000 but now costs Rs. 7,050,000 after an increase of Rs.400,000. 
·        Sportage FWD now costs Rs.7,790,000, up by Rs. 440,000 from its old price of Rs. 7,350,000. 
·        Sportage AWD, on the other hand,has seen an increase of Rs. 470,000 and is now priced at Rs. 8,370,000. 

Kia Sorento New Prices

·        Sorento 2.4L FWD has been raised to Rs. 9,540,000 from itsprevious price of Rs. 9,000,000, an increase of Rs. 540,000. Similarly,
·        Sorento 2.4L AWD now costs Rs. 10,390,000, up by a whoppingRs. 590,000 from its old price of Rs. 9,800,000.
·        Lastly, Sorento 3.5L FWD is now priced at Rs. 10,390,000,also having seen an increase of Rs. 590,000.
