In a major development, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has declared that under the new Islamabad M-Tag policy, every vehicle entering the federal capital must be equipped with a valid M-Tag within the next two weeks. The initiative aims to enhance Islamabad traffic Police and strengthen city security measures.

According to the minister, after the deadline, vehicles without M-Tags will not be allowed entry, regardless of whether they belong to residents or outsiders. This step supports the ongoing No M-Tag no entry Islamabad campaign, designed to streamline vehicle monitoring and ensure compliance with the Islamabad vehicle entry rule.

To assist citizens, the ministry will soon share details about how to get M-Tag Islamabad, making the M-Tag registration Islamabad process more accessible. The Islamabad toll gate M-Tag system will automatically verify vehicle access, reducing manual checks and traffic congestion.

Naqvi also directed law enforcement to launch a citywide crackdown against illegal residents, stating that all undocumented individuals must be traced and deported. “No one will be exempted from this operation,” he emphasized. This announcement follows the tragic suicide bombing outside the Islamabad District Courts in G-11, which resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. During his visit to the scene, the interior minister confirmed the casualties and assured the public that Islamabad traffic update measures are being implemented to maintain safety. Forensic teams are currently collecting evidence, and investigations are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
