Qiyuan A07 EV from Changan A New Rival to Tesla and BYD

Changan has recently unveiled its new Qiyuan electric brand, which includes the A07 electric sedan. The Qiyuan A07 is designed to compete with other electric cars in the Chinese market, such as the Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal. The customers can get the latest updates that Changan Introduces Qiyuan A07 EV to Compete with Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal.

At the company's worldwide partner conference held in January of this year, Changan announced the introduction of a new mainstream electric series named the OX series, which has now been renamed Qiyuan. According to insider sources, Changan's Qiyuan brand is positioned similarly to Geely Geometry and below Changan's Shenlan brand.


The Qiyuan A07 features a sedan-coupe exterior styling with a simpler front fascia and a through-type light strip above the brand logo. The side of the car has frameless doors and flush door handles, while the rear has a simple diffuser element, slim full-width connected tail lamps, and an embedded ducktail spoiler.

The Qiyuan A07 sedan measures 4,905/1,910/1,480mm with a generous 2,900mm wheelbase. Compared to the Tesla Model 3, the Qiyuan A07 has a comparatively better interior space for its occupants due to its longer wheelbase of 2,900mm.

  

  

   


The Qiyuan A07 is built on the Changan EPA1 platform and is available in both hybrid and pure electric models with an extended range. The pure electric version will have either a 160 kW or 190 kW electric motor and will be powered by CATL's ternary lithium batteries. Meanwhile, the hybrid version will feature a 1.5L four-cylinder engine producing 70kW, a 160kW drive motor, and a CATL-supplied 28.9kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a pure electric cruising range of 170km.

According to China's MIIT data, the Qiyuan A07 will feature radars, 360° cameras, and massage seats and will run on 18 or 19-inch wheels, depending on the variant. The Qiyuan A07 is expected to go on sale in the Chinese car market in the third quarter of this year. More details will be shared as they become available.
