Suzuki Fronx SUV Cheaper Than Pakistani Alto

Last week, Maruti Suzuki launched its new compact crossover SUV, the Suzuki Fronx, in India. The car, which is based on the Baleno, made its debut at the Indian Auto Expo earlier this year in January 2023. The starting price for the car is INR 7.47 lacs (PKR 2,559,893), and bookings have already begun with a down payment of INR 11,000.

Affordable Pricing

Suzuki has launched the Fronx in six variants, with the top variant costing INR 13.14 lacs (PKR 4,502,945). However, the significant thing to note is that the base variant of Fronx is cheaper than all variants of the Pakistani Suzuki Alto, except for the base model. The reason behind this difference in price is that India manufactures the cars while Pakistan assembles them. India makes every part of the car locally, while Pakistani car companies still import the primary components of the cars.

Features

The car comes in six colors: Arctic White, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Celestial Blue, and Grandeur Grey. It also has dual-tone options that include Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver.

Power and Transmission

The Fronx comes equipped with a 1000cc Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine that produces 100 hp and 147 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Exterior

The Fronx shares design elements with Maruti Suzuki's flagship car in India, the Grand Vitara SUV, including an upright nose and split headlamp. It has chunky front and rear bumpers with faux skid plates and chrome. The car also features multi-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels. The Fronx's design is also inspired by the Baleno hatchback in India, with a rising waistline and a sloping roofline. The car is 3,995mm long, 1,550mm high, and 1,765mm wide.

Interior

The Fronx's interior features a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen and black and brown upholstery. The car also boasts a multi-layered dashboard with Maruti physical controls for the HVAC system. The top-of-the-line variant has leather-wrapped steering, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, 6 airbags, and a heads-up display.
