Wuling's New Electric Car Challenges Cultus

SAIC-GM-Wuling, the sister company of MG, has launched its latest electric car, the Wuling Bingo. This small city car is designed to compete with other affordable electric vehicles in the market, such as the Cultus and BYD Seagul. The Wuling Bingo offers a unique design with its rounded lines, closed grille, rounded headlamps, and X-shaped LED daytime running lights that improve recognition.


Design and Features
The Wuling Bingo offers a floating roof and a large rear spoiler, giving it a unique look from the side. The interior has a double-color design with chrome-plated trim accents, providing a fashionable environment. The car also features a double-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, knob-type shift mechanism, and dual 10.25-inch screens. These features make the Wuling Bingo stand out from other affordable electric cars in the market.


Models and Price Range
The Wuling Bingo comes in two models with ranges of 203km and 333km, respectively. The 203km model has a 40hp and 110 Nm motor output, while the 333km model has a more powerful 67hp, 150Nm motor. Both models offer good value for their price, ranging between the equivalent of Rs. 2.5 million to Rs. 3.5 million. Despite some limitations such as a lack of range and power compared to competitors like the LeapMotor T03, the Wuling Bingo still offers a worthwhile option for affordable electric car seekers.

Popularity in China's EV Market
Wuling's other electric vehicles, such as the Hongguang Mini EV, Air EV, and NanoEV, have already gained popularity in China's small form-factor electric vehicle sector due to their affordability. The Wuling Bingo is expected to follow in its footsteps and become a popular option for those seeking a small, affordable electric car. While it may lack some features like wireless charging and water resistance, the Wuling Bingo still presents itself as a strong contender in the market.
