. Could faulty wheel alignment after a minor accident cause uneven tire wear in my Changan Oshan X7?

I had a small collision recently and didn’t get the alignment checked afterward. Now, I’ve noticed feathering on the tread edges. Is it possible that the accident knocked the alignment out of spec and caused the uneven tire wear?

Yes, even a minor accident, such as hitting a curb o r small collision, can throw off the wheel alignment. If the alignment is off, the tires no longer point straight and can scrub the road surface, leading to feathering o r shoulder wear. The Changan Oshan X7 has a relatively stiff suspension, so it doesnt take much force to cause a slight misalignment.

If you’ve noticed feathering tread blocks feel smoother on one side than the other, it’s a clear sign of toe misalignment. You should:

Get a wheel alignment as soon as possible

Check if suspension arms o r bushings were damaged

Inspect tires and rotate them if wear is uneven
