. Is the Turbo Lag in MG HS Normal o r a Sign of Engine Trouble?

I’ve noticed a delay in acceleration turbo lag when pressing the accelerator in my MG HS. Is this normal for a 1.5T engine, o r could this indicate a problem with the turbocharger, fuel system, o r ECU?

The 1.5T engine in the MG HS uses a turbocharger, which can naturally cause a slight delay in power delivery turbo lag. However, excessive lag o r lack of power may indicate:

Dirty o r faulty turbo – wastegate o r actuator issues can cause poor boost.

Clogged air filter o r intake – restricts air flow to the turbo.

Weak fuel pump o r injectors – causes fuel delivery delays.

Software/ECU issues – may need an update o r remap.

Low-grade fuel – affects combustion and turbo response.

Action: Use high-octane fuel at least 92 RON. If the lag is getting worse, get the turbo system inspected along with a software diagnostic.
