. Radiator leaking near the top pipe in my Kia Sorento – is this a known issue in Pakistan?
My 2016 Kia Sorento driven in Lahore recently started leaking coolant near the top radiator hose connection. It’s not a major leak but enough to cause the coolant warning light to come on after a few days. Ive heard from a few people that the plastic tanks on the radiator crack due to engine heat, especially in local driving conditions. Is this a common issue with Sorento in Pakistan? Should I go for radiator repair, o r replace the whole unit?

Yes, leaks near the upper radiator hose connection are a known issue in older Kia Sorento models in Pakistan. This usually happens due to one of the following:
Cracked plastic tank near the hose neck a very common weak point.
Worn-out hose clamps o r poor sealing between the hose and radiator inlet.
Overheating and thermal expansion over time causing the plastic to become brittle.
In Pakistani driving conditions — where high engine loads in traffic are common — this part often fails earlier than expected.
What you can do:
Inspect if the plastic inlet has developed a crack — this can sometimes be repaired temporarily with epoxy, but its not a long-term fix.
If the leak is at the hose joint, try replacing the clamp o r trimming the hose end to get a better seal.
If the plastic housing is damaged, a full radiator replacement is the only permanent fix.
Repair vs. Replace?
In most cases, if the radiator is more than 5 years old and leaking, replacing it is more cost-effective than trying to repair it repeatedly. Pakistani markets have good quality aftermarket radiators brands like Koyorad, Nissens, o r Chinese ones with warranty, often available in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.
