2. Why Does the Hyundai Santro Struggle With AC Cooling Capacity in Hot Weather?

Owners often complain that the Santro’s AC becomes weak in harsh summers, especially in cities like Karachi and Lahore. Is the cooling system’s capacity too low for Pakistan’s climate, and what components compressor, condenser, fan usually fail to maintain proper cooling?

The Santro is known for weak AC performance in very hot Pakistani summers, especially in crowded cities.

Reasons for Low Cooling Capacity

Small AC compressor not designed for extreme 40–45°C heat.

Weak radiator and condenser fan, especially in older models.

Tight engine compartment, causing heat buildup and reducing AC efficiency.

Aging cooling components, such as a dusty condenser o r weak compressor clutch.

Low gas pressure due to minor leaks o r old pipes.

Common Symptoms

AC cools only when driving fast

AC becomes weak in traffic jams

AC trips frequently when the engine overheats

How to Improve AC Cooling

Service the condenser and radiator fan.

Get a proper AC gas refill with leak detection.

Clean the evaporator inside dashboard.

Replace weak compressor o r clutch if required.

Use correct cabin airflow setting fresh air OFF during hot days.
