2.0D Timing Belt

2.0D Timing Belt

I have a 2001 2.0D in mint which has 87k km's on it.
All maintenance has been done thru Toyota workshops at Lahore, including the 80k checkup .. drained all the fluids, and got new nozzles.

I still haven't changed the timing belt, cuz the book and the sticker says to replace it on 100k kms.
The mechanics at the workshop told me to replace it on 80k.

What do u folks say? Change it immediately, or wait for 100k kms?

As per my opinion if ur car is geting serviced as per schedule provided by manufacturer then its no harm to use the old belt to 100K. As if engine is maintained & serviced timely & properly then any part can easily survive even more then prescribed time/running limit.
