5. Can using poor-quality coolant in Pakistan cause radiator damage o r leaks in the Hyundai Oshan X7?

I used a locally available coolant brand for a refill, and now I’m noticing minor leaks and rust deposits near the radiator cap. Could using the wrong coolant damage the radiator o r its seals?

Yes, using low-quality o r incorrect coolant is one of the leading causes of radiator corrosion and leaks:

Cheap local coolant often lacks proper anti-corrosion additives, which can lead to rust inside the radiator.

Some contain high mineral content, leading to clogging and deposits.

Mixing different coolant types e.g., green with red causes gelling, which can block coolant passages and damage seals.

Solution:

Always use OEM-recommended coolant usually long-life ethylene glycol-based.

Avoid mixing coolant brands o r colors.

Flush the system before switching to a new coolant.
