A surprising problem after 180km/hr

yesterday i was goin to islamabad wid my friend.He has 88 corolla.V did 180+ on it but suffering a problem.when v reached isb,n switch off the car,then after an hour or more,when v started again,the speedo meter didnt work at all.Rpm was working but speed needle was ouut ordr.v showed it to mechanc in peshawar mor.He tighten the wire from gear box but it didnt work at all.So wt u ppl can suggest abt this problem.Need serious suggestion plz.

take the car to 180 in reverse,
what u did will be undone !

on the serious note it can be a problem from the meter if not from the other end
