Adding A/C to Car

Adding A/C to Car

Dear Members,

Can anybody brief me about what will happen to car if I install external (means not a factory fitted one) Air conditioner to my car. My car is Mazda 323 1978, its 1000cc and on Petrol/CNG. Will it cast any negative impact on engine etc?

a.c is going to slow down yr car by reducing engine power around 8 to 9 hp. i estimate yr car is giving around 50horsepower or less and may end up in increase in engine temperature especially in slow city drive.

but if its a requirment you have to install go for r12 type gas compressor instead of r134, as its less pressure on compressor and engine.

you need
-compressor attached to engine pulley running with a/c belt
-condenser
-evaporator
-coil box
-fan unit ,, installed under glovebox or centre console
-set of pipes running back and fourth from compressor to coilbox.

you local a/c mechanic should give you estimate of new and used units.,,,,,, i suggest you go for new made in singapore or related countries as mazda orginal used units you wont find.
