Alto cold start problem

I have an Alto 2008 done 10,000 KM. It is giving me problems when starting in the mornings. Even though the engine starts in one self, I have to keep the accelerator down for a good 3-4 mins. If i let it go before that the engine just dies. Not to mention that i alaways start on petrol.

Is this a normal behaviour on Alto? Do i really have to heat the engine? I got it tuned, changed the spark plugs but to no avail? Can you guys give me any additional info on what areas to look into.

yar tum bhi subah uthtay ho to 5 10 minute to set honay mein lagta hai na ........
