Another Problem With Lancer 1.6

Another Problem With Lancer 1.6

This one is my friends one this time. He was telling me that today when he was pushing his car above the 5000RPM mark the car wouldn't have the "umph" factor about it like before. He told me that it started just now and in the morning it was running fine. By the way he was going on petrol and wasn't running on CNG.

So the problem is that car wouldn't go flat out through the RPM range with the same velocity in the first 3 gears(he didn't check the rest of the gears). Any suggestions?? The car has done around 8k mileage.

Thank You.

1. fuel filter coudl be choked
2. pump could be blocked & not working under correct pressure
3. air filter may be blocked
4. plugs may be old (check gap)
5. oil might be old
6. oil filter may be blocked or very dirty
7. incorrect oil might be being used (viscosity is wrong for winter)
8. timing may be off

the list goes on and on.

BTW if his car has CNG fitted it is likely that the fitter blocked the airbox to restrict airflow (needed for CNG) and that woudl possibly explain whythe car isn't revving also
