Yes. Alloy rims:

Crack o r bend when hitting speed breakers o r potholes at speed.

Can cause bead seal leaks, where the tire meets the rim.

These leaks are slow and not always detectable without water dunk o r pressure test.

➡️ Tire shops must inspect rim condition, not just patch punctures.
