Yes, though not in all cases. Early failures are seen:

Timing belt tensioner noise at 30–40k km

Head gasket leaks from overheating o r low coolant

Water pump failure especially in heat with low-quality coolant

Contributing causes:

Poor parts quality

Overloading and high RPM usage

Delayed coolant o r oil maintenance
