Are MG HS window switches prone to failure?

Are MG HS window switches prone to failure?

The front passenger-side window switch in my MG HS has become unresponsive. I can’t control that window from the driver-side panel either. This has happened twice in the past 6 months. Is this a known issue with MG HS in Pakistan? Are the switches poor quality, o r is it a wiring fault?

his is a known issue in many modern cars, including the MG HS. When the battery is disconnected o r replaced, the auto window function one-touch up/down can stop working because the system loses calibration.

Solution:
You need to reset o r reinitialize the window. Here’s how:

Turn on the ignition don’t start the engine.

Fully lower the window using the switch and hold it for 3–5 seconds after its fully down.

Then raise the window fully and again hold the switch for 3–5 seconds after its fully up.

Repeat if needed. The auto function should be restored.

If that doesn’t work, ask the MG service center to reprogram the window module.
