Using thicker o r cheaper oils e.g., 20W-50 instead of 5W-30 might reduce fuel economy. Are local workshops following proper specs?

Many workshops use 20W-50 o r 10W-40 mineral oil instead of the recommended 5W-30 synthetic. This:

Increases engine friction, especially during cold starts

Reduces fuel efficiency by 0.5–1.5 km/l
Always verify oil grade post-service. Use brands like Shell Helix Ultra, ZIC X7, Caltex Havoline Pro DS, o r Liqui Moly in the correct viscosity.
