BMW 1992 (E316) or CIVIC 2000 (VTI Oriel) ??
Dear Guru(s), Help Required.
Im planning to buy a car i.e BMW (1992 E316) or Civic (2000 VTI Oriel). Im a bit confused which one to choose!!!
Im NOT concerned about the re-sale and the fuel consumption. My only concern is BMWs parts availability and the cost. Can you please tell me about its parts availability and a rough comparison for the cost of major parts of both the cars?
Approximately how many times the BMWs parts will be more expensive than Civic's?
Thanks in advance.

here is absolutely no doubt you should go with a Civic. Seeing your budget, a 1992 BMW will become a pain to repair within a few months, if not already.
The people who are telling you to buy a bmw are the type of people who love getting rides in a bmw. They'll sit in your passenger seats and admire you, never realizing how expensive maintence is. People say the bmw is good, but dont understand how expensive they are to maintain in Pakistan.
Its a nice car if you want to leave it parked all day. But if you want to drive your car with certain peace of mind, stay away from the bmw. Your concern is operational costs, and the bmw is certainly MUCH more expensive than a Civic.
No offense, but in your budget, a bmw is not a sensible decision. You'll end up buying a 15 year old piece of junk just because it's a bmw.
PS Ateek, was the rudeness necessary? Have you any idea how much it costs to maintain a 15 year old bmw in pakistan? ChaterAli is selling his only because of the hassles of maintence. Even with a deep pocket, sourcing parts is a problem for him.
