Calculate KGs of CNG in cylinder

Calculate KGs of CNG in cylinder

Here is a method wtih which you can roughly calculate the ammount of CNG in your car's cylinder.

Boyle's Law
P1V1=P2V2

assuming that naural gas is an ideal gas at ideal temp.

P1=Pressure indicated on your gauge in PSI

V1=The capacity of your cylinder in liters which is usually between 50-60 liters

P2=14.6 which is atmoshperic pressure

V2=you will get liters of CNG at atmospheric pressure

Divide V2 by 1400 and you get KGs of CNG

Example:

P1=1400
V1=55
P2=14.6

V2=1400*55/14.6=5274 liters

V2=5274/1400=3.77 KGs

It might help calculating the milage!
